For Sale Pub, Budapest

The For Sale Pub and Restaurant, located in the downtown, just opposite to the Market Hall on the Fővám square, recalls the old Wild West atmosphere. The pub part on the ground floor and the restaurant on the first floor awaits those who would like to spend some nostalgic hours in a cosy environment. The art relic building was redesigned by Ferenc Kasselik in 1840, formerly it was owned by the Gabler and the Schedius family in the 1800''s and rented by Mr. Emerling. "Thou big house was transformed to a marvelous inn, furnished with the finest style, which matched all the prominent inns from abroad. The frontage of the building is decorated by bearings and a very nice picture of our beloved Palatine and the name: Hotel-Palatin. The restaurant with glass windows is located in the inner court of the building, above that a balcony with open-air inn was also developed with excellent furniture, flowers and green trees. Also similar guestrooms were constructed with considerable costs." Once upon a time a butcher shop was also located in the building, which originally was the restaurant of the Hotel Palatine. The tiles are beautiful. Above the cashier there was the Hungarian crest between two angels, covered by the logo of the Downtown Grocery Company. The house was converted many times during the ages. In the 1900''s, there was a pharmacy, a sausage factory, a fruit shop, a tobacco shop, a horologist, a goldsmith and in the 1950''s, the café "Liberty-bridge" also welcomed its guests here. In 1996, the For Sale Pub also received a place in this fine relic building. We kindly welcome our beloved guests everyday from 12.00-03.00.
